LO5: [1] Final Pitch Feedback + Chosen Idea

The above sheet is feedback from Stevler from Sheffield Live, Soul Casino; when we pitched our ideas to him. Based on our feedback we shall be producing QUIZZICLE.

Expanded feedback below:

Areas of strengths based on presenting to Sheffield Live!

Stevlar was pleased with our pitch. Our skills in presenting were clear and precise. When asked about our pitch we answered firmly and to the point. He particularly liked Quizzical and felt that it that it showed the most potential as our final product. Though similar products were compared overall the product pleased him and we were urged to pick this as our product to be created.

Areas for improvements based on Sheffield Live! Feedback and addressing issues.

Stevlar felt that our first idea The Daily Life Of was a “Huge marketing campaign” and lacked subtlety to this.

To improve upon this the marketing of the product for future reference should focus on the benefits and unique appeal of the product and how it benefits the community.

Stevlar also felt that the time frame of 20 minutes was unrealistic and needed to be longer. As if adverts were used to fill the gap they would drag on and general does not follow radio conventions.

To improve upon this the show would need to be extended to around 30 minutes instead. This would mean that we would be able to feature more topics that can be covered in the show and generally more content.

Reflection

Though Quizzical was the favoured choice both ideas were liked by Stevlar; who made comparison to other products and showed a keen interest in the products. The game show style is something he said himself he had worked with and demonstrated knowledge within the area, he liked the inclusion of local guests that had meaning within the community and our future ambitions for the show, that were not dismissed as unrealistic.

He found problems within The Daily Life of, but did not criticise it any further and did not dismiss the idea completely. Overall both products were well received but not equally.
